I have a small issue that I encounter regularly when I make my Podcast files for work. I create the files in Logic and Final Cut on another machine, and then save them out to an AIFF file in a folder that MC watches. Then, I load up MC and tag the file with all the relevant tags that I want to add (Description, Lyrics, Name, Date, etc) and then I use MC's Conversion tool to create the MP3 that we are going to actually distribute (with the conversion tool set to "Leave original file, add destination file to Library" mode).
When I do this conversion, MC imports the new MP3 with all of the metadata identical to the source file with one exception. For whatever reason, [Media Sub Type] (which I set to podcast in this case), gets dropped and imports blank.
This could impact me in other cases too. I'm trying to set up a system with my handheld sync that will auto-create "high quality portable" versions of all of my FLAC and high-bitrate MP3 files. But, when this happens, I'll need [Media Sub Type]=Audiobook to be preserved, or I won't be able to sync to iTunes without having to manually fix the Media Kind on any audiobooks I sync over.
