Starflyer's CD problems
« on: May 14, 2002, 06:38:02 am »

[copied from 8.0.272 bug reports]

> (1) I get a blue screen of death and some message about IRQ when trying to rip a cd from my HP 8200e. This worked fine up until a few builds ago, and ripping still works in (dare I say it), MusicMatch Jukebox.

> (2) CDs still do not advance track-to-track in either analog or digital (though this works in MusicMatch....)

> (3) When switching from Analog to Digital playback on my aforementioned HP CD-RW drive, digital playback becomes seemingly double-time for all files and digital CD playback until the computer is restarted.

> (4) CDDB crashes the system with a blue screen when accessed from my HP drive.

> This drive has always worked fine. Something in the builds must've changed, because it still works with other programs.

> I keep posting these same bugs build after build and no one seems to care

Starflyer,
We do care, but...

1. all of the above problems have to do with the CD drive
2. One of the bugs (#4 - CDDB) you reported as not a problem later in the thread.

Analog may be less trouble than digital on this drive.

When we fix bugs, we work first on those that are common to a number of people.  We fix those we can reproduce and those that are most serious.

Not all bugs are ours.

Have you checked HP support on any of these?
