Custom (Mouse Button) Shortcuts
« on: January 25, 2012, 04:39:58 am »

Hi guys,

I'm the new guy here ;D gotta say I'm loving MC17, but I had a question:

From using iTunes I've developed a habit of clicking the mouse browser backward/forward button to navigate between tracks.

In MC, however, this just navigates between previous playlist/view.

I know that MC supports user-defined keyboard shortcuts, but is there any way to assign mouse browser back/forward buttons to next/previous track?

Thanks for your help and nice to meet you all  :)

Welcome.

This isn't configurable in Media Center.  If your mouse driver software allows customization of the buttons you could solve it that way (ie. run MC17.exe /Next when pushing forward).  You could probably also install a third-party mouse customization program.

Since the standard behavior is for the buttons to be navigation, it seems like our current behavior is pretty good.  I suppose we could check if the mouse was over the player area or something, but if your mouse is over the player, you're already close to the previous / next buttons.

If you have a Logitech you could user uber options which has program specific commands based on which program has focus.
It also has way more options than the default SetPoint software.

Thanks so much for the help Matt and Scolex! ;D

I've been looking around SetPoint to find application-specific settings, but I couldn't..

The uber options software that Scolex mentioned works perfectly tho!

Thanks again ;) Everything's perrfect now!
