RTSP protocol support
« on: January 27, 2012, 04:04:53 am »

Free, a french internet provider use the rtsp protocol to stream the TV from the set top box (called the Freebox) to other device, infortunately, when I try to open those URI, it doesn't work :
rtsp://192.168.10.40/fbxdvb/stream?tsid=5&nid=8442&sid=1281&frontend=1
rtsp://mafreebox.freebox.fr/fbxtv_pub/stream?namespace=1&service=201&flavour=hd

Could Media Center support rtsp protocol ? I'm tired of using VLC to watch TV on my computer.

RTSP is not currently supported.

Hopefully someday.

That would be great most of the french internet providers use this protocol to broadcast the TV on computers and smartphones.

I would vote for this one too. This is missing in my installation, I've to switch from MC to ADSLTV for TV and I can't get benefits of all MC features...

Nice to see I'm not the only one to want a RTSP protocol support.

RTSP and MMS streaming support is planned for a future release of LAV Splitter (which MC17 uses), so it could then leverage that functionality when its implemented.
There is no solid ETA yet, though.

Needs more testing though.
If anyone knows a public RTSP or MMS URL, that would be great to test this.

Since RTMP streams are now supported, are RTSP streams close ?
