DVD playback stutters
« on: January 27, 2012, 03:51:09 pm »

I just recently installed MC16 and built a HTPC with an ASUS Xonar Essence STX card in ASIO mode.  I built this primarily for stereo playback for flac files which works great.  I recently attempted to watch a DVD and noticed that DVD playback and sound stutters for the first couple of minutes then goes away.  This happens when reading from the disc directly or from my hard drive.  I enabled down-mixing to 2-channel audio as I'm playing it through a stereo only system.  Any ideas as to why the stutter is happening.  The HTPC itself is a 2.6GHz i-3 (duel-core) with 8GB RAM and SSD (where Windows7 and MC is installed) and a 2TB disk drive (where my audio/video files reside).

Thanks for any help.

I also have this problem

The sound card is identical and it's outputting to a stereo DAC.  So stereo is used, not bitstreaming.

Any ideas? :(
