Has any thought been given to adding the sound of vacuum tubes (valves) to the DSP engine? This seems like a good remedy imposed by the limits of low rez digital formats ... When transporting media for example it would be a bonus to record programme to MP3 player

Just add a vst plugin. I recommend  free "Modern Analoger" plugin from  Antress: http://antress.blogspot.com/  .

You can also try Voxengo Tube Amp. It is a free multichannel VST plugin so you can use it even with 7.1 output.
