What is the proper way to install an upgrade?
« on: May 12, 2002, 05:04:45 am »

I'd like to know what is the proper way to install MJ 8.0 Upgrades. The reason I ask is because I have been installing the upgrades since 8.0 260 and for the last few days my computer was reacting weird. I would try to read the contents on a CD-RW and the screen would freeze for a bit and then the computer would reboot! There would be a conflict with other audio programs and I would get strange error messages. The only programs I have installed recently have been the 8.0 upgrades. I finally uninstalled 8.0 and installed the full 8.0 265 beta and THEN upgraded to 8.0 270 and all the problems disappeared. So, it had to be tied to MJ in one form or another.

Once you've installed the full version, you can install just the upgrade.

Not necessarily.  You are also dependent on the OS, on the drivers, and the hardware.  If any of them get confused, MJ won't work.
