Why does the vis say Edit With Notepad ?

More specifics would help. What version, and where did you see this?

In version 8 of MJ you can start playback and change visualizations with vis. studio on the fly. It's kind of a way to mess up an otherwise perfectly good visualization. There are some options in the vis studio for changing how vis' are displayed. You can also save the changes if you come across something you like.
