Yes. Tools > Import > Configure Auto-Import, select the music folder(s), and Edit. Expand the Audio section, and deselect the audio types that should not be imported.
You'll want to also then select the already-imported files, and remove them from the library. Sort by the file type in a view, or use the search wizard to find these files, and delete.
Alternatively, you can just allow MC to import, and have views not show these files. The cost of import is trivial.
