My HTPC2 is connected via optical spdif to a receiver (ROHQ, PCM, videoclock, upmix to 5.1 in DSP studio). I have two audio related issues with this setup. Issue 2 is the one I'd really like a solution for:
1/ With HD audio formats (ie bluray and BD rips), using the above config results in the sound dropping out for a split second every few minutes and I have no idea why. Normal SD content (DVD, recorded tv etc) is fine.
2/ Enabling bitreaming (SPDIF) solves problem 1. This works fine and I'm ok with this workaround but I would prefer to try and retain the use of videoclock etc for non-DTS content. However, when I set the bitstreaming: CUSTOM option to DTS only, I am presented with the error: "failed to connect audio decoder to audio renderer" for all video content.
Thanks.
