I am not exactly sure how to approach this as I have used Vista nor an async USB DAC.
I got my buddy into J River recently (he bought his license over the weekend!) and he is absolutely loving it.
He didnt have a DAC anywhere in the replay gear so we got him a Musical Fidelity VDAC2.
Using it via USB from a Vista laptop to his preamp.
Because it is asyc, does he require WASAPI to get bit perfect sound? Just to get things rolling for him I had him select Direct Sound output and J River did see the VDAC2 as an option.
But I have been wondering if he should be using WASAPI. As an ASIO/Juli@ guy, i am a little lost. I did some searching around online but did not find anything definitive in the least.
