Media center 17 crashes and requires reboot because it is "still running"

I find Media Center 17 unstable on my laptop. It works ok so long as you don't mess with it too much. If you start and stop it too much it will crash. I have to make sure to close it before I turn off my DAC to change cables. If I don't it will freez when I restart the DAC. I wouldn't even mind that except you can't restart it without rebooting because Media Center claims it is still running. So there goes my progress downloading from HD tracks if I reboot. This is REALLY irritating. I you want me to buy 18 then 17 should be dependable first.

A driver problem might explain it.

Our wiki has a link called "Stability".  It should help you find the problem.
