Feature: set files as hidden?
« on: February 29, 2012, 05:15:43 pm »

I was just wondering if it's possible for MC to automatically set the extra files it generates as hidden (cover art, sidecar).

This would make browsing library folders with other devices/explorer a lot easier, as currently there are three times the number of files in each directory.

Is this something MC is capable of doing, or a feature that can be added?

That would be fine by me, I think.  Might need to be optional though.

Yeah definitely optional, it would just be great to have the choice.

I would like this as well. And my other users who don't use MC, would be very happy. This feature would be much more needed now that users are forced with more cover art with their videos. I can't think of this as a complicated feature either. If I remember correctly, DOS only use one command like "attrib -h filename" back in the days. Probably still works. Not sure if this could be used directly in MC, but there's got to be some easy ways of doing it.
