"Waiting..." OSD message when starting tv. Is it necessary?
« on: March 10, 2012, 08:47:44 pm »

When I start live TV (TS on) from theater view, MC jumps to Display view, flashes the Program info (now/next data) in the OSD for a split second (not long enough to read it) and then shows "Waiting..." for a few of seconds while the channel is tuned in. Could we do away with this wait message please? I'd rather read the program info while MC tunes in. Thanks.

I agree that showing the program info would be nicer.

The "waiting" message is better than a blank screen which might lead you to belive the program is stuck/broken. Sometimes it takes 5 to 7 seconds for the show to appear/start. I assume that if the screen is blank MC doesn't have the program info (to show in place of "waiting"). But if the info is available, then I agree with Raym and would rather see it than "waiting".
It would be best if the tv show tuned in faster (< 2 seconds) but until that can be done, at least the message tells you something is happening.

Thanks for making this change. It works great (.168)!

Now can we just get the "time of day" clock in the lower right hand corner of the TV Guide screen?

Thanks
