unable to read cd's after using mj
« on: May 08, 2002, 05:33:54 am »

downloaded mj yesterday.  during first burn, got message that something on my cd drive could possibly upset my download and asked for permission to shut down a switch.  after burn, could not read any cd's, including the commercial ones I have.  My reader is disabled.  can anyone help me?  thanks.

Do you remember if it was asking about "auto insert notification" (AIN)? Has the system been rebooted since?
Please post your system info here (under Help/System info in MJ).

Thanks,
John T.

Donald,
When you reply and it asks for a name, use yours, not the person you're addressing.

Auto insert is a Windows option and can be set there.  Try Microsoft or a search on google for details.

You don't have to have auto insert set on to be able to use the CD.  Just use Windows Explorer and click on the CD.
