I have a problem that I'm almost sure can be done with the Library Tools but I don't know how to do it.

I have a large music collection that has the release date in the file name. For example:

1987-04-11 - Janet Jackson - Let's Wait Awhile.mp3

I want to create a rule in the Library Tools that can get the first 10 characters from the file name and paste in the Date tag.

I would be very happy for any guidance.

1. Changed: Added the expression function ConvertDate(...) to convert a human readable date to the internal date format (example: ConvertDate(3/6/2012) or FormatDate(ConvertDate(3/6/2012), decade)).
