Hello,
I've been using some streaming video/tv service for quite some time. A few months ago it stopped working with MC (they changed their format, MC switched to Red October and LAV).
Even when it worked it wasn't flawless - sometimes it would stutter a lot, sometimes the playback would freeze. FF/RW never worked...
On the other hand, WMP played and still plays everything perfectly there.
I tried to custom configure Red October but it didn't work - most likely I am doing something not right.
Can some kind soul give me a hand here?

WMP uses WM Video 9 and WM Audio 9.2

Unfortunately I cannot provide a link to their site, it's a paid service, it's in russian and they don't have direct links.

Experimented with different settings...
Here's what I found:

If Video Mode is set to Advanced/Windows merit based then the streams do play OK (FF/RW do not work though but those never worked in MC. Do work in WMP)
The filters used are:
JRiver Audio Renderer
EVR
WM Video Dec DMO
WM Audio Dec DMO
WM ASF Reader

So, I went ahead and set the Video Mode to Advanced/Red October Custom and changed Video/Audio Decoders/Renderers for asf and wmv files to use the above listed filters.
And... no. Still won't play.
The filter used/listed are the same as above but MC adds 2 more:
JRiver Video Monitor, and
JRiver Audio Monitor

Can these ^^^^^ be the bad guys and how to get rid of them?

Another strange thing I mentioned in the previous post still applies:
Some low quality (low bit rate, low resolution) streams do play even with Red October Standard (and with Windows Merit and October custom)! The problem only occurs with newer higher quality streams (my guess).
And again, everything plays just fine in WMP.

Someone? Please. I am out of ideas...
