My current USB sound card is a Cakewalk UE 25 EX. I'm very, very happy with its sound and and facility of use. But I'm having problems with its own ASIO drivers using JR 17.
Then I'm thinking of selling my card and of buying another one that works perfect with JR 17 with ASIO.
I need: USB connexion. 2 channels. Up to 96 kHz/24 bits (better 192 kHz), and, of course, fantastic quality of sound (like my current Cakewalk) with great D/A converters and RCA outputs. 400$ more or less (about 300 euros)
Some recommendation?

There are hundreds of 2 chanel USB sound card/DAC's currently available. I've heard very good things about the Musiland Monitor 02. It has asynchronous drivers, supports up to 192kHz, has RCA outs, and great D/A converters. It is also very inexpensive. The HRT Music Streamer II is another one I've heard recommended. Either of these can probably be purchased in various parts of the world. Another member of this forum, Vincent Kars, also lists some DACs on his website.

This is a USB to SPDIF converter.  The OP would still need a DAC.

The Schiit Bifrost is a $450 DAC with USB that can do 24/192.  It's on my short list for my next DAC.  It comes with an ASIO driver.  But I haven't tried it and don't know how well it gets along with MC in either ASIO or WASAPI.  I've been meaning to start a thread asking if anyone has experience with the Bifrost in MC17 and how well the ASIO and WASAPI works with it.

I suspect we'll be seeing more USB DACs out soon that can do 24/192 now that C-Media has a chip out that supports it.

Not to revive an old thread, but I have the Schiit Bifrost DAC (had it for a couple of weeks now) and it work wonderfully with MC.  It works with WASAPI, WASAPI (event style), and ASIO all with absolutely no difficulty.  I'd recommend ASIO mode and make sure you set it to 24bit and a very low latency - mine runs stable at 2ms.  Very fine DAC and I don't even have 100 hours on it yet - probably around 50.
