Feature Request: Wake Request from Webgizmo
« on: March 28, 2012, 08:04:35 am »

Wake on LAN/WAN works on my system using Gizmo from everywhere I have cellular coverage. Wake on LAN works flawlessly with Tremote (probably from WAN too, haven't tested it.) No such luck with Webgizmo.

Could Webgizmo be configured to issue a wake request to a server computer?  This would be a very useful feature, providing access to a sleeping Win7 server from any computer with a web browser.

Many thanks for your time and consideration.

Can a webpage (Javascript) send a magic packet?  If so, have an example?

Thanks.

My coding skills went out of date in 1997 :).

Here is the best I could find via a google search, one is a perl script and the other seems a makeshift java:

Hope this is helpful, thanks again for considering this.

If you have an iOS device you can use the free app Fing to map your network and send wake on lan commands to networked machines. I do this before I fire up WebGizmo on my iPhone and iPad. Fing is also an Android app. And it is useful to find out the ip and mac addresses of the various machines on the network, for setting up remote access via IP.
