MC DVD Rip won't read...
« on: April 17, 2012, 09:00:45 am »

I'm using MC's DVD rip to make a copy of my DVD's of "The Wire." The rip process completes successfully with no problems.

However, when I play the digital copy in MC, I get a screen that says "This player is incompatible with the region marking of this disk" Can't enter DVD menu or play any episodes.

I've archived many other DVD's of TV shows using MC's rip function and had no problems with playback. Any ideas about what is going on here? HBO DRM?

Thanks for your time!

Edit: Screenshot attatched, see display box in lower left of picture.

Update: tested rip folder and it plays with menu and episodes using VLC media player.

Bump, thanks. I'd much rather play these rips using MC, any way around the region incompatibility?

I had the same issue with the same series and ended up creating separate MKV files for each episode. MakeMKV will read your MC rips, if you no longer have the disks

Thanks so much for posting, RSleith. I will check out MakeMKV, there are so many similar programs out there that it is great to have a program rec from another MC use.

Perhaps the developers would consider adding a similar feature MKV episode rip in MC18? :)

Update: Wow, MakeMKV is great, very simple and great results. Thanks again.
