Migrating Layout
« on: April 21, 2012, 09:06:29 am »

Is it possible to migrate the settings (layout) and presets in MC17 from one computer to another another computer running MC17?

Thanks,

Grayson

Most of it, yes. Take a backup and then restore with all settings on the new computer.

Hi:

Thanks for your reply.

By backup, do you mean backup of the library?

Or is there another means of backing up settings?

Thanks,

Settings are included in both backup and restore.

Correct. Just remember to select restore of the settings when you do the restore on the new client.

Hello gentlemen:

WHat happens if the two libraries have slightly different entries (about 80% is common to both)?

Will there be a problem if I restore the backup from one library to the other?

Regards,

It will be overwritten, yes.

What I would do is to back up both libraries, restore the one with the correct settings so both clients are the same. Then restore the individual client backups WITHOUT the MC settings.
