Upsampling
« on: April 24, 2012, 10:22:11 am »

 Hi Guys,
I have a general question about the output of DSP Studio. I have MC version 16 and the audio output is set to Direct Sound. When I upsample my audio files to 24/88.2 the 88.2 sample rate light on my DAC comes on, but I don't have any confirmation of the word length. Is MC putting out a 24/88.2 or 16/88.2 data stream? The sound card is a Conexant AC Link. The USB output on my computer is connected to a V-Link which then goes to my DAC. Both units will support 24/96, but I don't know if my computer is can handle the upsampling.
Oh, I want to compliment you on MC. It's terrific! The more I learn the more I'm in awe of it's features. I couldn't get the MC Remote to work some time ago, but I getting my confidence up and I may try it again. Thanks!

You might want to try a hardware direct output mode:

Media Center 17 adds 'Audio Path' to answer these types of questions.  You might give it a try.

Do you know what it is putting out? My system will only handle Direct Sound or Wavout. What is the cost to upgrade to MC17 and will it run XP?
