file duplicates
« on: June 09, 2012, 07:27:49 am »

I have discovered that all of a sudden quite a few of my albums look like the one on the screen in attached file:  all or some files have duplicates.  This is really terrible -- one can't even play the album!

Any guesses why this may happen?  (I swear I don't rip same CDs twice.)

Any suggestions how to clean the library efficiently?  I am not enthused about choosing each duplicate manually ...

I had something like this happen when I first set up MC. I had setup MC to monitor/import the same folders on both my Client and Server (under Library & Folders >auto Import). Then I learned that the Client does not need to import files or monitor folders. This may be obvious to you, I don't know how familar you are with the program.

No, I am new to JRMS -- and thus make mistakes.

So how do I make sure files are not imported by Client and thus the database stays clean?
