Persistent mixed DSD/PCM playlist problem
« on: April 29, 2012, 08:39:12 am »

Hi Matt, Jim and others,

Thanks again for responding so promptly to my prior reports/issues with DSD. Again I am using the Mytek DSD DAC which sounds great with MC 17.

There is a bug that I have reported a couple of times before, which still persists in the recent build of JRMC17 (i'm on 136 I think).

When you are playing through USB (and USB only; FW does not have this issue), playing a PCM file after a DSD file gives the error "Playback could not be started on the output 'WASAPI -Event Style' using the format xxx" where xxx is the sample rate of the PCM file i'm trying to play.

This requires a manual rate change in the USBPAL driver control panel to fix - I have to go and manually change the sample rate from 176.4 to 96Khz for instance for a 24/96 file.

Sounds like it's something to do with the interface of MC and the Rigisystems USB driver....

Thanks for looking into this!
