MC 17.40 - how to configure it to play Directv mpeg4 files
« on: April 29, 2012, 09:00:47 am »

Greetings:

With all the recent advancement in Video, there is still one area, I thnik JRiver has neglected.. Directv.
I have not yet been able to configure any devices- PS3, Xbox, Pioneer Elite BDP 53 Bluray Player.
I keep getting unsupported file format.
Can someone help ?     .
There are more than 12 million Directv  subscribers, , why we have got a hand on Directv devices  is worrying me.
I have 3 DVRs and JRiver detects them, playing HD   is nearly impossible.
Matt- please can you spend some time on this neeeded configuration.
I know JRiver does not at present support 3D, but just the HD 1080Ps movies and shows are my concerns now.
Thanks again.

George.

Directv files are encrypted and cannot be removed from the unit and played back anywhere else. However, there is a Directv app (Directv2pc) that will allow you to playback recordings from your Directv receiver on your computer (but the Directv unit must be turned on and on your network). It is located at http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/content/directv/technology/directv2pc
