How do you customise the "Recenty Imported" view
« on: May 03, 2012, 09:26:35 pm »

I like the std Recently Imported View but I want to make a couple of simple changes permanent:
- Change List Style from Thumbnails to Details
- Add a couple of Columns (eg Media Type, Media Sub Type)

At present I can make the above changes but how to you save them back as the default so it is used next time as it keeps defaulting back.

Thanks
Nathan

Try making your changes, and then selecting from the pane drop down menu Columns > Presets > Save and then name the preset.

There is a bug, and its been difficult to isolate, where playlist columns keep reverting.  It seems that if you clear or reset the parent view's settings, and/or reset the desired playlist's settings, settings will stick.  Views inherit from their parents, unless otherwise overridden.  But sometimes it seems something goes wrong.

Thanks MrC (solid advice as always).  Is there a way of now assigning the new saved view to the defaul "Recently Imported" playlist so it sticks?

That's the bug.  It should stick.

Try changing the Sort By to some sort order other than Default, leave the view, and see if that remains upon return.

If that doesn't work, try creating a new Playlist Group, and then move Recently Imported into that group.  Once inside, you should be able to establish the customization of Recently Imported (as well as the new group), and from there, it should work after you move it back into the root of Playlists.
