MC and Squeezebox Touch
« on: May 17, 2012, 10:41:00 pm »

Dear Sir/Madam,

In my setup, I have the SqueezeBox Touch (SBT) connected to the DAC and then to a 2-channel amplifier.  SBT is ethernet-connected to the network and accessible to the Logitech Media server (LMS).

MC discovered the Squeezebox Touch via DLNA and I can play music from the MC library via SBT.  So far so good.

My question:
When I use MC to play music via SBT, which device does the decoding?  I cannot seem to choose whether MC or SBT to decode. My educated guess is that SBT is doing the decoding because when I changed the MC DSP (equalizer or left and right channel volume), there is no effect.

Much appreciated a response to clarify.  Thanks.

Consider using Whitebear instead of LMS' DLNA.
