Use JRiver as a sqeezebox player possible?
« on: May 16, 2012, 02:42:29 pm »

I'd like to be able to get my PC with JRiver MC as a player together with my other players(Duet and Boom). Done some googling and can't find any solution for this.

Thought it might be possible to install som kind of squeezebox client, then route stream/plugin to JRiver. If this would be possible, you could have Spotify or Wimp installed on your sqeezebox(one problem solved) and use Squeezebox remote for controls(one more problem solved)

Anyone seen a solution like this?

the newest version of the LMS should make your devices show up in MC as a "Zone".

It works with the SB Touch at least.

LMS does need to be running in the background but need not have any albums loaded into it.

If that doesn't work for you Whitebear Server certainly will!

Good luck,
Patrick

Thank you for  swift reply. I got the understanding that Whitebear was the other way around, I obviously need to read more.

Hi Patrick,

It works. Squeezebox Touch (SBT) does appear as a Zone in MC.

My questions:
When I use MC to control SBT, which device is doing the decoding?  I cannot seem to choose whether MC or SBT to decode.

Many thanks.

Very slick these show up as zones, should we expect Squeezebox Radio units to behave likewise?

Yes, it should appear like any other SB unit.
