Stacking Video Files
« on: May 20, 2012, 10:20:03 pm »

I love media center and all the features related to TV shows and movies.

What I am still missing is the ability to import movies that are split into several files (like *_part1.avi and *_part2.avi) in a way that the movie is only listed once.

When I stack the video files, they are only listed once. However, only the top file in the stack is played.
Also associated ac3 or srt files are not working.

I think with a little work, the stack files option could solve my last remaining issues with media center - I have quite a lot of older movies that are split, as do probably many other users.

THANKS

Requests for handling multiple-part videos have been ignored in the past, so it's probably not going to happen. The remaining alternative is to mux them (including the subtitles) into an MKV. Doing so with MKVmerge takes some time, but is relatively painless.
