Gizmo and Web Gizmo showing "Unassigned" videos
« on: May 31, 2012, 07:07:31 am »

Gizmo or Web Gizmo seems to have a small glitch possibly.  I have over 5500 movies in my Library and have them all tagged but for some reason Gizmo has a number of them displayed as "Unassigned".  I have a structure on my file system for the letters of the alphabet, "moveis - A, movies - B, etc. so that I have some sort of order to the chaos.  Not sure why some still show up as unassigned.  Not a biggie just wondering if anyone has any ideas how to fix it.  It does not show them "unassigned" in the media center itself.

update!  It does it under Theater View as well so it must be something I am doing wrong.  Any help would be appreciated!

Views use the file's metadata, so if MC reports Unassigned, then the field(s) used by view is really unassigned.

Can you be more specific as to exactly which section of Theater View is showing this?

Under my thearter view for "Video", under Disk I added "Genre", U-Drive and point that to my U:\ drive that has a file struct for movies, videos, tv shows, etc.  Under my movies folder is where I break doen by the Alphabet.  Moive-A, Movies-B, etc. so theater view shows the "U-Drive" heading and under that is where i see unassigned

Great screenshots and pictorial explanation.

For the U-Drive and V-Drive sections, configure Set rules for file display to restrict files to only these directories:

  Filename (path) starts with U:\
  Filename (path) starts with V:\

respectively.  This is done via Options > Theater View > Video > Disk > U-Drive (and V-Drive).
