Chromium Engine causes MC17 Crash
« on: June 12, 2012, 02:21:08 pm »

I tried searching around the forum for info on this problem but didn't find any:

I would really like to switch to the chromium engine in MC rather than using IE.  I love chrome and would like to use something similar in MC.
The trouble is, when I switch from IE to chromium in options MC crashes.  From that point on, every time I start MC I have about 30 seconds or 3-4 button clicks before it crashes.  As soon as I switch my browser engine back to IE, everything is stable.  Weird eh? ?
I tried rebooting my machine, and the problem still persists.
I am running the latest version of MC (although I have had this problem every time I try and switch for sometime now) on Windows 7.

Thanks in advance for any help/ advice.

Is Chromium loading, or is the problem with downloading and installing the Chromium components?

We added Chromium when we weren't sure if IE was going to fix their crash bugs when IE 9 launched.

Since Microsoft fixed the issue, I would just use IE if it works for you.

I'm a little puzzled by your crash report, since browsers are sandboxed to their own process when running inside JRiver, so shouldn't be able to crash the main program.

When you mention Chromium loading, I am not sure what you mean.  Do I need to install a separate plugin for Chromium?

What is this driver?  Where is it found?  I've struggled with the IE browser working for some things, but not for others, and vica versa.
