Send sleep command with remote
« on: July 05, 2012, 09:04:36 pm »

I'm trying to setup discrete on and off commands from my remote for JRiver. I've got discrete on, so now I just need to figure out how to send a sleep command with my remote while JRiver is running to put the system to sleep. I saw this page: http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Media_Center_Core_Commands, but I don't really know what to do with that information. I noticed there's also a way in JRiver to setup a remote to open a file or program. So maybe if a sleep.exe existed, I could just trigger that? Any help would be great. Thanks.

I managed to get this work. I made a custom command that launches C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe with the parameters Powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState Sleep. I then setup a IR command from my Harmony remote to trigger the custom command. I also had to disable hibernation so the computer goes into sleep instead of hibernation: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/819-hibernate-enable-disable.html. Seems to be working, but let me know if there's something for straightforward XD
