File Serving Power Question
« on: July 11, 2012, 03:43:04 pm »

If Media Server is serving a file - for example someone is playing a video - will Media Center prevent the server from trying to put itself to sleep?

The reason I ask is the machine in question is a machine that sits in my bedroom which I don't have turned on all the time.  However should a house mate want to watch something then they might turn on my machine and start playing something from my machine on one of their machines.  So long as video something is playing I don't want my machine to put itself to sleep - and so terminate their viewing experience!

That said the rest of the time I'd prefer the machine did put itself to sleep after a reasonable amount of time!

It would also be handy if MC could warn me if a file was being served prior to allowing me to close the program(Which as far as I know it doesn't do?)

Thanks,
Chris
