If I use the loop to select 15 files, then r-click on that selected batch, then hit delete, it asks if I want to delete the 1 file, and will only delete the first track.  i have to repeat the process with the remaining files to get them to delete.

Same for tagging.  If I select a bunch of files, then change the Album tag, it only changes the first track, and I have to select the rest and repeat.

Hopefully this can be fixed soon, I'm trying to do some major tagging, and this is just costing me too much time to deal with.

I'm going to work on other projects for a while, until I hear this has been fixed.

I've seen a problem that may be related. When I select a block of new files in drives and devices and right click import sometimes only the first file is imported and I have to reselect the block and repeat to get them all to import. It is not repeatable and only occurs from time to time. This has been reported by others in the past but the issue is still present.

ha! It is repeatable!

Navigate via MC's explorer to a folder with some new files. Press F5 to refresh, then ctl-a to select all, and right click Import. Only the first file will import.

Repeat the above sequence without the F5 step and it works as expected.

Tested on XP.

I have also seen this (selecting multiple files - ctrl + a - in a smartlist and then select right click delete and only one file is processed for deletion) but I have not been able to reproduce (other than it seems to occur the first time I switch to the smartlist in question but not subsequent times during the same MC session). I think this is a new issue, from build 170 or so, since I have not seen it before.

I also keep bumping into this, can't nail 100% replication steps though. I did report it as a bug several months ago, but didn't want to keep repeating without guaranteed steps to reproduce. I see it in all places...

Drag a selection, right click...

Rename, move & copy
Get art from internet
Play
etc.
etc.

On choosing the command, the selection is reduced to just the first file and the command is only applied to that file.

Does it make a difference when you use the delete key instead of right click. I only ask because I have never seen the described behavior
but I always use the delete key. I also very rarely use the lasso and instead use shift or ctrl click.

I have never noticed this issue when using the delete key, only when r-clicking the selection do I see this behavior.

It also doesn't seem to matter if I use the lasso or ctl-a to select.  Any selection that i r-click on is prone to this behavior.  It does seem to be the first time I select something, but not always.  It happend twice in a row at least twice that I noticed.

I have not found a reliable way to reproduce, but with multiple reports of issues, hopefully it'll be enough to track down the bug.

If not, what more can I do to help find/eliminate it?

bump, would be nice to get this long standing irritant fixed
