MJ14 to MC17 Library Restore gives critical error
« on: August 07, 2012, 02:22:42 am »

Installed and licenced MC17 and then tried to restore my library from MJ14 and get the critical error saying

the following module failed to load C:\programs files\mc14\plugins\out_main.dll"
                                   "Failed to loadJRTools.dll".dll
and to reinstall the latest version.

I did that but I am still getting the same error.

This is well documented at (but seemingly no resolution) at:
http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?action=printpage;topic=62577.0

Therefore my question is should I
i. export all my playlists to m3u files
ii. then de-install both versions 14 and 17
iii. re-install 17
iv. re-import my playlists
?
Don't want to do all this unless there is reasonable chance of success!

Thanks

Old versions are on our wiki under "Old Versions".  Try installing MC14 or 15.

I think MC17 should be able to restore a library backup from MJ14.

Make sure MC14 isn't running.  Then run MC17.  Go into Options > Audio, and click OK (this makes sure MC17 output plugins are selected).

Then restore the library (a zip file) in MC17.

Does that work?

Thanks issued resolved. I believe following:

Go into Options > Audio, and click OK (this makes sure MC17 output plugins are selected)

Did the trick.

Thanks again.
