Putting media on a Vortexbox Appl. from MC17

I've started with a few albums, dvd and blu-ray movies on my HTPC hard drive. I want to put these and new media on my VBA NAS hard drive. I'm anticipating replacing my HTPC soon with a HTPC dedicated to MC18. What's the best way to do this? Is this information listed somewhere in a "step by step" form?
