When MC18 Does Appear

If I remember correctly MC17 was at build 20 when released to the general public -- us mortal non-beta users and -developers -- and MC18 should be, what, into build 45 by now and still nothing? Part of paying respect to all the people who've udgraded pre-release is giving us an early grasp at MC18, and when you start out by saying MC18 is "a week or two" away and it ends up nearing now 4 weeks, it seems to me that respect has somewhat diminished.

Get it out now - show us the money.

I understand the frustration... and yes it is taking longer than usual for the first public release, but the reason for what seems like a long delay in the release is due to the rewrite of much of the code base to allow for porting to other OS and this has created more than the usual set of niggles and bugs.  Simple and boring stuff that the Beta Team find and then the JR folk fix.  We are ALL looking forward to the new code base settling down so we can get back to new and exciting Features!

Thanks for your reply, jmone - I appreciate it.

It was not very wise to sell MC18 licenses in such an early stage - just my humble opinion

You just make some of your clients mad like this...

not me, but reactions you see within this thread show it clearly :)

When we switch versions, we have a few problems in satisfying customers.

So, for a few months, we offer the new license when people purchase the old version.  We offer it at a special price.  This is good for new users, but people who have the old license want to buy the new one at a discount, too.  So we built a way for them to buy, too.

The bottom line, in my opinion, is that, during the transition, people get a very good deal.  But not everyone agrees.
