Can I get rid of WMC?
« on: August 28, 2012, 03:12:09 pm »

Hi JRiver,

I use JRiver MC17 for everything except streaming TV, EPG and PVR (4 tuners, encrypted DVB-C, Dutch provider Ziggo).
Are these functions included in MC18?

Thanks,
Peter

You could try using MC for TV, but the encrypted  DVB-C is probably not going to work.

MC does have excellent recording and an EPG.  You could read about TV on the wiki.

Will encrypted dvb-s2 ever be an option in mc, it really is the only reason I have not switched

Funny I was about to submit a similar question about CI+ (encrypted) for Ziggo. I don't have a tuner yet but I was looking into it.

Support for this would be nice.

Encrypted DVB-C support would be very nice. It's very common in Europe.
It would be great to get rid of that ugly PVR box.
