Hi,

I reinstalled my system (and MediaCenter) after a crash disk.

I configured DNLA servers to see movies on my TV.
In the past everything works fine but since this installation nothing works.
Mkv files cannot be seen on tv (in the past it works fine).

I've configured everything correctly even the FFDShow. But apparently the issue is in the Video conversion in the DLNA servers settings.
When I put Conversion to Always convert .... nothing works, If I put Conversion to Never convert .... avi files works, for the conversion to convert unsupported formats ... of course mkv doesn't works correctly (the error message on my TV, for mkv, is not the same when I use always convert(cannot be read)t and never convert (Movie Format unknown).

So for the Mkv files the problem will be there. But I don't know what I've to do.

Do the MKV files play ok in Media Center?

In your DLNA server settings, are you using "Generic DLNA"?  Under the video conversion section, try conversion="Always convert".  If you have an NTSC TV, for encoder, try "MPEG2/DVD Stream" or "MPEG2/DVD/NTSC stream with MPEG2 Audio".  If you have a PAL TV, try "MPEG2/DVD PAL stream" or "MPEG2/DVD/PAL stream with MPEG2 Audio".

I tried with Generic DLNA and PS3 DLNA.
With all the possibility of encoder.

The MKV files play ok in Media Center.

I remember in the past I changed option in WMP for Haali and directshow. I presume, this is not needed with red october...

With Red October, you won't need to configure Haali or any other filters.  Make sure you're using the red october standard mode rather than custom mode with extra filters configured.

What kind of TV is it?  And is it PAL or NTSC?

On our NTSC Sony Bravia, an MKV plays fine with "Generic DLNA" and conversion set to "MPEG2/DVD stream".

If you want to dig deeper on your system, you can look in MC's temp directory at what type of video file is being created by the video conversion. On my system that temp directory is here:
C:\Users\John\AppData\Roaming\J River\Media Center 17\Temp
In it, you'll see a file like "VideoStream - xxxx.mpg" being created.  This is the file we're sending to the TV.  When the conversion is finished, you could copy this file somewhere, import it into MC, then try playing it on the TV with DLNA conversion set to none.  If it still doesn't play, your TV doesn't support that format.

Try adding a "Sony BD/TV" for your DLNA server type, then select "always convert", and select "MPEG2/DVD stream" for the encoder (or if using PAL, MPEG2/DVD PAL stream"), then click on "Advanced" and if you're using a PAL TV, change "Video DLNA Override" to "MPEG_PS_PAL" rather than "MPEG_PS_NTSC".  "MPEG video mimetype override" should be checked.  "Video MimeType Override" should be set to "video/mpeg".

Then from your TV, select the "Sony BD/TV" dlna server and see if it works.

I would check that.

I use an LG BX580 DVD readers as DLNA Client. This, so I can use my homecinema for sound.

So it's MediaCenter --------> LG BX580 -----------> Samsung TV PS50C550 (Image)
                                                      -----------> Yamaha RX-365 (Sound)

Not sure if I use MediaCenter ---------> Samsung TV PS50C550 -------------> Yamaha RX-365 works for the sound.
