Problem with CAV66
« on: August 08, 2012, 04:26:58 am »

Hi,

I've been running the CAV66 link to Media Center successfully for a while on MC17.0.182 under Windows 7 ultimate.

Now when I start the .exe after a short delay I get an error message "Could not access MC automation interface (0x80080005).  The CAV66 link shows "no info" for all the sources & zones.

As far as I'm aware there have been no hardware or software changes on the PC.

Any suggestions of how to fix this?

Thanks

Make sure you're not running more than one version of MC, even Media Server from an old version.

Did you try the thread on AVSForum?

There is only one instance running.

I haven't tried AVSForum but will give it a go.

I've posted the problem on the AVS forum CAV66 thread - waited patiently - but had no responses at all.

Can anyone point me in the right direction - it looks to me from the error message that  might have an MC config/setting issue which is preventing access to the automation interface.

Any help would be appreciated.
