'Genre' missing for TV shows
« on: September 07, 2012, 08:28:17 am »

I am using the default guide data (I presume using mc2xml under the hood) and all of the shows have an 'unassigned' genre.  Isn't genre information available in the guide data since in WMC I can browse by 'Category'?

I know you're talking about the TV guide now, but I'd like to remind Matt that Genre is also available on TVDB for scraping to your local series. It would be a nice addition. I'm over 100 shows now, so it could be nice to categorize them.

We are once again trying TV in MC and are having the same problem with nothing under Genre. Having Genre is an essential aspect of choosing what to record.

The odd thing is that when I used MC TV some time back it was there. It must have gotten broken somewhere along the line.

Can this be fixed?

Thanks,
Rod

Next build:
Changed: When using the automatic EPG download option, genre will be filled.

Thanks very much Matt.

I'm not sure if I was able to use the 'Automatic EPG Download'. Vaguely recall I had to manually install, perhaps because of where we are in Canada? If the EPG is not downloaded automatically does that mean it still wont have Genre?

Bump. Would be great for the TV scraper to get Genre. Or, if I've assigned a Genre to other episodes of this Series, copy that
