Videos are crappy...
« on: September 21, 2012, 09:15:52 am »

I have a bar with a couple of tv`s and a pc , I have about 3,000 music videos that play in random,
I am currently using kmplayer and it works well, but I really always liked  j.rivers media, but I have tried to play videos
through it, and they are jerky, all of them, no matter what codec or res,
Just upgraded my j.river media but its still the same, Iam I stuck with kmplayer, (which plays videos flawlessly ,no matter what video I throw at it.)?
Any help would be great.

What O/S, cpu, and video card are you using?

I had similar problems on a 7 year old XP, AMD, ATI All-In-Wonder system.

Its dell pc, with Xp, dont have a clue on the cpu, but the graphics card is an ati with hdmi and dvi out and
500 mb of memory. I have 2 gig of ram in the pc. Does j.river media suck up that much power?
Like i said, I have no issues with kmplayer, I just like the interface of media center.

I doubt your Dell has an exotic video card like my old ATI so I would assume your hardware is probably ok.

Please report the settings your are using under Tools\Options\Video\General Video Settings.

Try setting video to Red October Standard.
