JRemote and Ipad
« on: October 02, 2013, 12:26:02 pm »

Hi, I'm hoping that someone here will be able to answer my question.

I have JRiver on my home PC with an attached Buffalo NAS via Ethernet to my wireless Fios router. I would like to purchase the Cambridge Audio Stream Magic 6 Network Player.

With the Stream Magic 6 and the computer "off" can I control my music playing to my hi-fi by using JRemote on an Ipad? Thanks!

JRemote talks directly to MC's Media Server's service called MCWS, so the MC system and MC must be running.

Thanks,

Is there another way or ways to accomplish what I'm looking for?

It appears to be a DLNA / UPnP device, so any DLNA server software should do.  The server will need access to the media files, obviously, and since your media files seem to be located on the NAS, the DLNA software would have to be running on that system (or another system that has access to the files).
