Is possible to force library update from Theater View.

Is it possible to map a button on my IR remote which will force a library update?

I forgot to mention that I want to be able to do this in theater view.  I basically want to be able to force an update using an IR remote while in theater view.  The background automatic update processing is not working reliably and I'm trying to find a workaround.
