It is installed on my HTPC but I have no idea how it got there, which software installed it and what is still using it. Maybe I removed whatever installed it, I don't know.

Does someone know what uses it (or installed it) so I may know if I can remove it or not?

It is used in conjunction with Windows Media Center. I also have it installed on my computer. I actually seem to remember that Windows Media Center asks you to accept this software when you configure your TV settings. Hope this helps.
