Misinterpretation of the "volume control" setting.
« on: December 13, 2012, 05:48:16 pm »

This is drawn from my own short time with MC In regards to bit-perfect playback.

In some cases volume disabled is the correct setting, in others "system" is the correct setting, but the application does not make this clear to to user, eg.-

1 With onboard sound (Realtek) + asio4all driver then volume disabled seems to be the correct setting.

2 with USB DAC the correct setting (for me) is "system".

3 with onboard sound and Kernel Streaming again system appears correct.

Such a small yet important key component, perhaps the app should provide more clarity or feedback to the user because it caused me and I'm sure others too a few headaches.

Thoughts ?

The above link is a decent explanation imo.  I use internal volume.
