Need some help with subtitles
« on: November 26, 2012, 07:21:19 am »

Hello,

I'm fairly new to using MediaCenter, so I still have a lot to learn.

I just built a new HTPC and server, and have been looking at various software options to organize and play all the media in my library, and so far this program seems to be the one closest to what I want.

I have however run into one small problem regarding the rendering of subtitles from some of my DVD rips. I've searched the forum but haven't found any solution so I figured I'd post here and hope someone with more know-how can help me sort it out.

This is a screenshot of how it looks using VLC:

This is a screenshot of how it looks on RO normal mode:

And finally how it looks on RO HQ:

Now as you can see the colouring is all off, and when on RO HQ the subtitles gets placed off to the left of the picture. Now I would prefer to use RO HQ for madVR so basically I have two problems in need of solving - colouring and positioning. Not all DVD rip subtitles are coloured though, most of them are white with a grey outline - additionally is there a way to change the outline colour from grey to black?

Hope someone can give me a hand with this, as the use of subtitles is very important to me.

Welcome.  This may be a madVR problem that has been fixed.

It seems I'm not allowed to view that post, when I click the link I get:

The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you.

Sorry.  Here's the post:

Bug when using the new 0.85 madVR release. I assume it has to do with the new color controls interface. Picture when rendered by madVR is washed out and cannot be fixed by any setting. Also the color controls don't work probably - picture gets Black/White when changing contrast or brightness.

This is fixed with latest madVR.
