Automatic Display Settings Changing problem

In Windows 7 I was able to set MC to change to my custom resolution and refresh rate during video playback. Since changing to Windows 8, MC no longer sees my custom resolutions. I am using the latest nvidia drivers 310.70. In Windows 7 I setup a custom resolution and refresh rate in the nvidia control panel and MC, both 17 and 18, see and are able to switch to it. In Windows 8, both MC17 and 18 don't even show the custom resolution just the default resolutions. This has been a problem from the start with windows 8 and MC even with older drivers.
