Strange DLNA and Media Server Issue....
« on: December 06, 2012, 08:04:24 am »

Hi...

I have been using MC14, 15 and 16 for past several  years.
No issues with media server or dlna.

However upgraded my server to MC18 and clients to MC18.
Dlna works fine to a client running windows media player - though when using mc18 on the client, so slow, and many files do not play.... I know kinda what i am doing as all past versions worked.

I have reinstalled MC16 on server and client and everything once again works fine. Then if I put back MC18 on server and client, nothing works as it should.

I only use this for movies and have set to not transcode.

Any help would be grateful (though very stange how Windows Media Player works fine as a client with MC18 but MC18 wont work well as a client)

Thanks

Just tested from MC18 to MC18 and it worked fine. When you connect in that fashion, it uses library server not DLNA. The conversion setting for that is under Library Server conversion options.
If you connect to Windows media services, MC connects with DLNA. There should't be any need for conversion there since MC can play whatever WMS provides.
