Optimal settings for tv deinterlacing MC 18?
« on: December 12, 2012, 12:23:50 am »

I have an intel 3770k with HD4000 and while watching tv I can see a little interlacing happening. What are the optimal settings to minimize or get rid of the interlacing issues all together?

Also it appears that when I leave theater view and then go back to watching tv it appears the madvr renderer stops deinterlacing and will only turn back on if I stop tv play back and start it back up.

Also, in theater view when watching tv and I go into the guide, how do I get back to the show I was just watching? Do I have to find the channel again and select watch?

This is possibly due to a madVR bug that was recently discovered and possibly fixed.  Please test when a new build of MC comes out.

Ok thanks, I'll look for the update.

What about my other question? How can I get back to my tv channel quickly after going to different menus in theater view?

If you have a remote, you can use the Green Button to roll between Display View, the root of Theater View, and your last used Theater View view.

I do have a green button but it launches windows media center instead.

I have a dedicated aspect button, is there no way to utilize that?

MC has an option to disable WMC.  It's under Theater View, or maybe Startup.

So I was able to stop it from opening wmc but pressing the green button does not return me to the tv channel I was watching. I can hear the audio playing in the background but I can't get back to the channel without going back to the guide and selecting the same show and then selecting watch.

When watching movies there is at least a "display view" option I can select to get back to full screen and continue watching the movie.

Press the Green Button again.

Ok I tried again, no go. Pressing the green button didn't do anything no matter where I was, theater view or not.

That's not normal.  Either the remote isn't a WMC compatible remote or something else is grabbing the key.

Does F11 on a keyboard work?

F11 does work on the keyboard it takes me to the home screen when in the guide and it exits the theater view when pressed again.
